ELIZABETH

SEES

DIRECTED BY VAL MARGARIAN

(2017, ANIMATION, 9 MINS, CANADA, CP)

SYNOPSIS:

Elizabeth Sees is a hand-drawn animation inspired by the director’s Aunt Elizabeth, who manages to see the world despite being legally blind. The director describes showing her aunt her drawings: “She scanned the paper with her eyes, focusing her tiny pinhole of vision on one little area at a time. Sometimes she would only pick up on a particular shape or colour and would ask how it fit into the bigger picture.”
