El Río de los Kukamas

(The River of the Kukamas)

(CP, Documentary, 2018, 7:15, Toronto)

The Kukama people, who believe themselves born from the spirit of the Amazon, have a special connection with the water. The river shrinks and grows throughout the year, affecting the lives of those who live beside it. Filmed at the end of the rainy season, when the river is at its widest, El Río explores the cosmology of this disappearing Peruvian culture.
